About the Author
Hazrat Inayat Kahn, founder of the Sufi order in the West, was born in India in 1882. A master of classical Indian music by the age of twenty, he relinquished a brilliant career to devote himself to the spiritual path. In 1920, acting upon the guidance of his teacher, he became one of the first teachers of the Sufi tradition in the West. For a decade and a half he travelled throughout Europe and the US giving lectures and guiding an ever-growing group of seekers. In 1926, he returned to India where he died the following year.

Discovering and achieving the purpose of your life

Master Through Accomplishment is a collection in essay format of multiple talks and papers by Hazrat Inayat Khan (HIK). HIK presents detailed, inspired and thoughtful methods that anyone can use in accomplishing their goals in life. Along with excellent advice on how to achieve one's ends, criteria to use in the selection of worthy goals are also given. These seemingly simple ideas when implemented in daily life will have a profoundly beneficial effect upon the reader's spiritual and material well being. Concentration, insight, hope and wisdom are all addressed by the author. For instance HIK says;
"Concentration is the chief means of attainment. Concentration does not mean sitting and thinking of a certain thing, but it means holding a certain idea or object in the mind at all times. The result of concentration depends upon how much one loves the object of attainment."
He then goes on to describe how one can go about learning to concentrate. If you are interested in learning how to achieve peace and happiness while at the same time leading a more fulfilling life this is a book for you.

The Ideal Life

If your goal in this lifetime is to live the ideal life, this is where you need to start. I have yet to read a book which satisfied my yearning to understand more about what life is about. Having always believed that it was possible to make it in the world without selling my soul, this book was a definate plus in how to accomplish that goal. This book covers the bases as far as directing you towards the thoughts within your mind which you need to focus on, as well as those you can do without, and eventually challenges you to be better than you thought you were or believed you could be. 5+stars!

Incredibly important book.

This is one of a handful of the most important and urgent books to read on the subject of vaccination, right up there with Dissolving Illusions by Suzanne Humphries and Roman Bystrianyk (which you should also read). I have been an independent holistic health scientist/consultant for many decades. Vaccines aren't just dangerous and of limited effectiveness, the secret truth is they never worked at all, except to start and spread epidemics. A decision has recently been made to try to force them on people worldwide without consent. Most states have bills pending to do this to us, as most "representatives" are corrupt and dishonest, and many "scientists" are the same, willing to endorse poison for the public for a big paycheck. If the real health information were allowed to the public, almost no "health care" would be necessary except for accidents. The body is designed to stay in great shape, repairing itself until death. The widespread disease and hellish aging currently considered normal is totally abnormal and unnecessary. Most of these conditions can be reversed, but not with drug medicine. Standard medicine is effective for accident repair and a few necessary surgeries, but for health it is a disaster and misleads the public, keeping them from discovering how to maintain their own health without need for doctors, which you can do. Vaccinated people become contagious, this is not how to get immunity! This book is an absolute must read to understand vaccines. Questions will be answered if time allows at richard@globalleadersconsulting.com. I am also trying to spread at least the basics of this knowledge on the radio for free. Study and inform yourself. Schools and the medical industry are not telling the truth.

Doctor reveals vaccine problems, furnishing evidence and citing medical sources

This is the only book a parent needs to make an informed decision about vaccinations. Dr. O'Shea covers the entire vaccination crime scene investigation right up to 2015, and the crime spree continues. But you won't be a victim, because you'll be completely informed, not propagandized by government/the media/vaccine manufacturers. Just cracking this book to get the facts about vaccines will put you ahead of 99% of the population and let you keep yourself or your children out of harm's way. The author presents important details you need to know: the toxoids, poisons and carcinogenic chemicals in vaccines; the potential adverse side effects of vaccines, including death; the deceits that pervert the subject of vaccination; the easy way to opt out of vaccinations, and more. Thank you Dr. O'Shea for this straightforward and excellent work!

About the Author
Franco Montanari is Professor of Ancient Greek Literature at the University of Genoa (Italy), Director of the "Rivista di Filologia e di Istruzione Classica," of the Centro Italiano dell'"Annee Philologique" and of the "Aristarchus" project online, and a member of numerous international research centers and associations. Decent enough on portrait techniques.

This book contains some valuable information and tips on this difficult topic. The skin tone colour mixing part is especially helpful, and the illustrations are informative and high quality. I really like the way it goes into detail on different elements of the face, on application of paint and on toned grounds. Nevertheless, this book suffers from the same problem as all of them do. The step by step demonstrations are all made by the author/artist himself. This results in a lot of demonstrations basically using the same approach in different variations. I would really like to see a book of this kind with demonstrations by different artists, displaying different approaches and techniques! If you are very interested in glazing techniques, this should really satisfy you, since all the demonstrations involve a lot of glazing. That beeing said, the book actually includes a mini-demonstration by another artist with a different approach.

All in all a great book for the intermediate painter who wants to learn more about depicting the human form.

Good overview of technique

The author presents a coherent approach to painting in traditional "Old Master" style. To absorb the wealth of
valuable information takes several readings, as well as working through the exercises and much practice. Techniqes
are clearly described.
There are some impressive examples of painted portraits -- but not by the author. The step by step demos she herself
does are not inspiring and result in stiff, "tight", uninteresting images.
This book will be most useful to painters who have some experience and have already encountered the technical issues the author describes. Beginners will probably find it overwhelming.
Incidentally, the author's mentor Domenic Cretara, who supplies the introduction, is a modern master in his own
right, and his work is well worth looking up online.

Big disappointment

This book doesn't quite live up to other "Atelier" books by Watson-Guptill. it presents a rather timid approach to portraiture (glaze here, scumble there...). On top of that, some of the technical information is inaccurate: "flesh ochre" is NOT a pigment (page 39) -- it is a hue; "ASTM D-4236" is NOT a "color code" (page 41) but rather the labeling standard for potential health hazards in art materials; "PR101" is the color index designation for synthetic red earth pigments, not its "chemical description"; "rosso veneto", "pozzuoli red" and "terra rosa" are NOT "core red earth pigments" (page 54) -- these are variations in hues of the same pigment class (red iron oxide pigments, either PR101 or PR102) which can vary from brand to brand!; the author also states that "a well-balanced selection of glazing pigments would include lapis lazuli" (page 40) which is such bad advice because lapis lazuli in oil paint form is rarely available and prohibitively expensive. Of course, she fails to mention that ultramarine blue (PB29) is a synthetic and far cheaper alternative to it. Although there is a section entitled "the nature of pigments" (page 39), the author does not discuss or explain color indexes -- the standard and critical pigment information that is used by almost all artists' paint manufacturers today on their paint tube labels. The author (on page 150, etc.) misuses the term "scumble" (which is to apply a thin layer of lighter, more opaque color over a darker color) when she actually meant "glaze" (application of a thin layer of darker, more transparent paint over a lighter color)... AND THE LIST GOES ON. These technical inaccuracies aside, the step-by-step demonstrations are also such disappointing specimens. I would not recommend this book.

It is the mark of a truly great book when one wants to read it all over again when finished. I came across this gem while searching through the KindleUnlimited selections. I don't recommend paying too much attention to the description of this book on Amazon. Not because it's a bad description, but because it doesn't do this book justice, and cannot. There are twists and turns, and there are moments that will make you cry, and moments that will take your breath away.

I may be mistaken, but it looks like this is the author's first regency, which in itself is quite impressive. However, it's quite obvious that she's a seasoned pro. I think she could do quite well in the Historical Fiction world. Jackie deserves her place at the top with the recency greats. I really hope there is more to come.

Know then, that I have access to this book on KindleUnlimited and I typically buy 1-2 books on Amazon per year (because I have a well used library card). Despite these facts, it was a completely hesitationless decision on my part to actually purchase this book. It's worth it.

Beautifully Written Mysterious Historical Romance - I Loved It!

Set in a time when steam engines were like the latest iPad, gowns of the most diaphanous silk and gentlemen in breeches with rippling muscles astride magnificent steeds. I enjoyed this so much I read it again and found even more to enjoy second time around! Alexander has come into a title that comes with a coronet, his brother and father dead in mysterious circumstances. The family fortunes in tatters and the silver sold to satisfy an unknown blackmailer. An arranged wedding, unexplained happenings and a ravishing beauty with hidden secrets. I could see the flickering candles, feel the warmth from crackling castle fires and sense the underlying passion coursing through this exceptional book. Discover the truth about Elizabeth and the whereabouts of the hidden gems - sit back and prepare to be amazed...

You can’t always judge a book by its incredibly gorgeous, sexy cover. But, in this case, you can. Silence of Scandal is the complete package. It embodies all the elements of a deliciously romantic and thrilling Regency: Scandal, deeply buried secrets, deception, betrayal, lust and love. The story centers around Alexander and Elizabeth, but circumstances and people are not always what or who they seem to be. The non-stop twists and turns will keep you riveted. The passion, sexual tension and undeniable chemistry between the main characters will leave you breathless. Between the covers of this book, you will find many treasures that you’ll want to hide in your heart for a lifetime.
