He soon learns that even if you were born in the projects, you weren't really considered "black" unless you experienced the struggles. Follow along with Prince as he takes you on his tumultuous journey from a young boy through his struggles into manhood.

Very good read, suggest to everyone!

True: being in accordance with actual state of affairs. Lie: to create a false or misleading impression. These are words that are used in everyday language without a second thought but when they are put together, that creates an entirely different scenario that can cause hurt, pain and anger issues.

Based On A True Lie is a very coming of age story about the transition between being a child to being a adult to being a man. The characters all work well together and compliment each other, even if they don't get along all the time with each other. M. Charles has captured many emotions and stereotypes that are displayed in today's society and worked them into a very compelling story. This is a book for either individuals or bookclubs, all will enjoy it. Very good read.

This novel will take you on journey as you follow the life of the youngster Prince Jacobs. We follow him from the age of 5 as he watches his father destroy his mom's life and Prince will have to be the man of the house. As the novel progresses we follow Prince till after his college days. I enjoyed reading this story from a male prospective, the issue he dealt with and handled are all too real. It took me back down memory lane of my own childhood.

"Based On True Lies" deals with all the issues all children deal with at one time or another. This compelling story kept me tuning the pages to see how Prince would handle the next situation. In this story the author touches on drugs, sexuality, cheating, friendship, bullying and can't forget peer pressure all the issue you would expect to deal with while growing up

Mr. McClam tells an engrossing story with a great message. You can overcome the odds. The decisions you make will effect you in the long run. He shows that with a little love you can make it. I love the relationship Prince had with his Uncle Rob who stepped in when his father checked out. The values he instilled in Prince went a long way. I recommend this book and I cant wait to see what this author has in the arsenal next.

Based on A True Lie by M. Charles Mcclam 11 is worthy of a 5 Star Rating. Not only does the story bring more meaning to the word "intimacy," but it also discusses that when you carry a long list of heat throughout your life for so long, somehow the ones you get closed to are affected by your decisions. Not to mention, hurt by your actions. Growing up is a lesson

Very useful information!

I always thought that chromecast has too many drawbacks for its price, and I was interested what I can use instead of it. Owing to this book I could make a choice. I used this book for an introductory architecture class, but I think any one who is interested in some basics of architecture could benefit from this book. It written to be easy to read and understand. All the topics are explained well with words, but the multitude of examples in each chapter really help to understand the concepts. It's great for people just starting in architecture.

About the Author

S. Narasimha Murthy Ph.D. is an Associate Professor at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy. After obtaining his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from Bangalore University, India, Dr. Murthy worked as a Research Associate at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, NY and as an Assistant Professor at the Ohio Northern University, Ada, Ohio. He has published over 60 research papers in the area of dermal and ungual drug delivery.

Howard I. Maibach, Ph.D. is currently serving as Professor of Dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco. He obtained his MD from Tulane University, New Orleans, LA in 1955. Later he served in faculty positions in various levels at the UCSF. Dr. Maibach has over 2,520 published manuscripts. He has been on the editorial board of more than 30 scientific journals and is a member of 19 professional societies including the American Academy of Dermatology, San Francisco Dermatological Society and the Internal Commission on Occupation Health.

Great book

This is a great book for preachers, but also for anyone who needs to appreciate the place of prayer in ministry. In an age when we focus so much time at being experts in ministry, Bounds calls us to be dependent on God. C. S. Lewis said to read more old books than new ones. This is certainly an old book that should be more widely read today. It is outstanding.

Amazing book

I have read this book in Korean and I have been searching this for a long time in English. (I couldn't find this in Australia where I live in hard copy). This is amazing book for preachers like me who often forget to pray. When I feel so dry spiritually I read this book and pray. I cannot explain the value of this book in word. I was surprised that there are few reviews on this book. Must have for preacher!

Be in harmony with the divine nature

Bounds' little book, Preacher and Prayer, is one of those books that needs to be read slowly and often. After reading Preacher and Prayer I was not only convicted that I did not pray enough, but what prayers I said were mostly--in Bounds' words--heartless. I highly recommend the book for preachers--and teachers, for "It is impossible for the preacher to keep his spirit in harmony with the divine nature of his high calling without much prayer" (p.27). Not only is this edition of the book just the right size to place in your pocket for reading while you wait somewhere, it is reformatted which makes it much easier to read than others. Full of little gems that need to be marked and pondered on. Best $6.00 you could spend!

Great supplement!

We started using the Singapore Textbook and Workbook this year, but my daughter needed more drill to really get the concepts down. We tried a different supplement, but it didn't follow the lessons in the textbook. Intensive Practice moves right along with the textbook with lots of great problems, including an excellent Challenge and Word Problem section at the end of each unit. We will continue to purchase these books as supplements as we move through the different Singapore levels.

I got this for a tutoring student that is strong in basic operations but needs work in base ten understanding - place value, decomposing tens - and it's pretty helpful.
