Surprisingly Good ....

This book was recommended to me by a Facebook page of an author I follow. I read the story synopsis and didn't know if I would like it due to the urban element to it described by some of the reviews. I am not into the"hard core" urban stories but I like read to stories with alpha males and the feisty women they get with. Truly had a very hard and tragic childhood and the relationship with her twin sister was complicated. I am glad their stories were different and befitting of them both. I liked how she would get in Bannon's sh*t when she was pissed with him about things he did and I loved how they loved each other through all their baggage and issues. She had a good heart and was about taking care of her family, even her trifling ass sister.
Bannon, my man, I loved him because he was handsome, rich, well-endowed and as flawed as Truly. He went looking for one thing and got something entirely different. Isn't that how life goes most times. I loved his interactions with Truly, the guys on the block and the relationship with the children. I also loved how he handled his business when he felt his things were violated; as a person who loves gangster movies - he could get gangsta and did numerous times. I liked the integration of the other characters in their story that could possibly lead to future stories about them. Like Athena and Jamie, what happened or is happening with them or other family member. I agree that the story could've been shorter and there were some editing issues but, for me, it didn't make it less enjoyable. If her future books will be this gritty and real with a true love story like this one, I will be a forever fan. This was a very good start for her first widely, published book. I want more just like it.......

A BADD couple..oh yeah

My goodness..this is the BEST book I have read in 2016. TrulyHappy and Bannon Antonov are two of the baddest people I have ever read. Their meeting was as unconventional as one could dream of. Tru comes form the wrong side of the tracks and struggles everyday just to survive. She was dealt a hand that would have caused the average person to just throw in the towel. She is a natural fighter. The odds are heavily stacked against her, her children, her sister and her neighbors.
Bannon Antonov was born with a golden spoon in his mouth. His inheritance once he reaches the ripe old age of 30 is 400 Billion dollars +. He is an a born leader in his family. He is a mover and a shaker. He seems to have the midas touch, but his alter ego is a killer as vicious as he is successful.
What could these two have in common? They both think the other is drop dead gorgeous and they love good music, literature, dancing and sex with the other. Wow, what was supposed to be a one time thing leads to two children for Tru and Bannon.
If you like raw adventure, sensual love and a page turning read.. this is the book for you. At times the editing needed to be done, however, I was drawn in real deep and was on a mission to complete this story.
This is my first read of JanJan Untamed, but if she puts out another one...I am dead on it...
This books even has some helpful hints on how to keep your man from straying outside of a relationship...Tru is an expert on quite a few things in this book..Again a great read...Well done, well done..

Tru and Bannon are everything...dysfunctional but everything

This was like an old school Sidney Sheldon put in the ghetto and then injected with molly. LOVED it. This had me up reading until 5 am. Yeah, the second half could have used some tighter editing (I could feel that the author was pushing to get it all outoutoutoutOUT) but the story had me on the edge of my seat. The writer has a sharp voice, eye for detail, and ear for voices living in the 'hood that, with more polish, could really be great to follow. (Get this woman an editor!)
This is NOT a sweet romance. There are grown ass issues, grown ass decisions, grown ass situations, and that 'view from the bottom' is real, man. It made me flinch thinking about the neighborhood I grew up in and the women I used to know.
But Tru and Bannon are TIGHT. I have never read a square romance couple be down for a MMF hook up just for the heroine's birthday. That ish was amazing. I almost elbowed my sweet guy in his sleep to yell at him, 'Why can't you love me like Bannon loves Tru??' But I didn't. Because I'm not an abused ex-prostitute/addict/exotic dancer with 4 kids and he's not a billionaire/more than slightly psychopathic/married man with attachment and impulse control issues.
