Great book must have!

This seems like a warm up book but it is a classic manual on what not to do and explains clearly what is relevant to do to get results that are long lasting. I felt that time was need in work out to address these issue correctly. Great book clear reading instructions going the right way toward results. I saw it advertised for the longest in BlackBelt Mag now I finally got a copy. No loaning this one out get your own.

Excellent Work-out, Awesome Book

This book offers a very effective work-out routine. It requires no weights, but you will still get very good results without them. Heavy weights also tend to be more damaging than beneficial, and they really aren't necessary. This book shows you that, and it provides an awesome alternative work-out routine. It has a basic work-out and then a bunch of supplemental excercises that concentrate on specific areas of the body. I love the fact that a lot of the excercises focus on your joints and areas that can be igonored (like your neck, knees, elbows, etc.). This book is not about beefing up or building a lot of mass, it's about getting strong, flexible, and more nimble. Harry Wong has written a very comprehensive and easy to follow work-out book. With this book there is no need to go to a gym and pay extreme amounts of money to get in shape. You don't even need weights, a few excercises require chairs (like concentrated push-ups, chair dips). It's all about using your own body weight or muscle tension to build up specific areas of your body. It will make you stronger and more toned, as well as more flexible. I am really glad i ordered this book, and doing the exercises has improved my body and mind's health. This is an especially good book for people who are interested in or who practice a martial art. But i would recommend this book to just about anyone, especially for the ....

Worth the read- will give you an invisible "gym" to use anywhere!

I purchased this book during a long, snowy winter that did not allow me to get out of doors for exercise. This is not a book on bodybuilding per se, it's more about general fitness. And YES, it does work.

My recommendation: Regardless of how much fitness equipment you have available to you, this book will give you techniques that will stay with you for life, permitting an instant workout wherever you are, under whatever circumstances. Take some time to memorize the exercises and develop a routine.

The best part is, once you understand the principles behind Wong's well described workouts, you'll be able to invent a few motions of your own. His torso and abdomen exercises were helpful to me in eliminating lower back pain (but consult your physician for your own needs). Great book!

UPDATE: It's 2016 now and over ten years later, I've lost this book. I have no idea where it is, and probably haven't seen it in over 6 years. Yet, I still remember, and use, the exercises. I think that's a testament to it's simple effectiveness. I recently started up those "windmill" style shoulder exercises again to relieve back and shoulder pain associated with mousing all day on the computer, and it's helped quite a bit. Thanks Harry.
