This is THE book to buy.

I had VERY high expectations from this book, based on the other books by Prophet Uebert Angel and I was NOT disappointed! His writing skills are nothing short of amazing, everything in the book is backed up by his real world experiences. Sometimes it takes a book to really spell things out in order for me to understand the concepts, and this book does an excellent job with this as well. In the last pages of the book, he gives real world examples of well known people and stories of how similar concepts happened to them. And most importantly, he backs things up from scriptures which make complete sense in regards to the bigger picture of the book. I don't think you will find another book like this anywhere, although I have read the entire book, I have the urge to go back and really study it again in finer detail.

Vril Codex Review

Disclaimer, I don't read much fiction, and when I do, it's not usually fantasy.
I do read a lot of non-fiction about Vril, the real history and works of Keely, Leedskalnin, Schauberger, and Schumann.
However once I started reading Manning's dark and mysterious story, I was drawn in by the characters. He has a great way of creating an immediate interest in them.
When we get to the thick of the story, we are taken to a dark underworld (literally in part) of a group of Nazis who have (somehow) flourished in Berlin all these years. Vril itself plays a relatively small role in the story, other than that it is of course the source of power for the vampiric and nefarious Nazis, plotting their return.
For me personally it's a bit hard to stay "into" a fictional book about real things, and without spoilers, I'll just say Manning does draw his inspiration from information such as that in the History Channels' "Dark Fellowships" documentary. In this, one "historian" throws out damning speculations with no evidence whatsoever, while the other, with 25 years of research, tells us a few facts, which were to be revealed in his book that somehow never was published, despite having an ISBN issued, cover designed, etc.
So one can't blame Manning for his one-sided view of Vril and it's definitions, and though it's in the title, the bigger mystery to me is why he's had such a difficult struggle with publishing. The only reason I can see is the over-saturation of the fantasy market, and I'm pretty sure the words "Vampire" and "Zombie" only appear once each in the book, and only descriptively, which I would think makes his book a unique breath of fresh air to the genre. I hope that wider distribution opens up for it in the near future, it's a great read for a chilly night under a blanket.

I have really enjoyed the Vril Codex. It is a good play on secret societies of Nazi culture and is full of suspense. I felt myself waiting at the turn of every page for what was to come next. There is something for everyone in this book, with some thrill, romance, mystery, and action. Jane and Bob Wilkerson are an interesting couple with an interesting story. When Jane goes to Berlin to start a piece on architecture in the city she stumbles into a series of events that will forever change her life and that of her loving husband, Bob...pick up a copy of The Vril Codex to find out how.
I promise you will enjoy The Vril Codex...I certainly did.

Complex and intriguing story!

I really enjoyed this book, the story was unique and the characters were very well written and you could connect with them. I would thoroughly recommend it.
However, the one thing that let this book down for me, was the formatting/kindle. Now this might be an issue of the kindle but it really did let the book down. For example, there were line breaks every two or three lines much of the time, though there were some longer paragraphs. Now if bob was speaking at the end of the three sentences there would be, Dianne said for example. But then there would be a line break and then whatever Dianne said would be written. For much of the book I had to go back and reread the sentences because I was getting confused as to who said what simply because of this. The at other times the sentence would jump to a line break then have a couple of words written.
Editing wise, I think it really does need some work, in one place Dianne went to Baker and Bob was called Wilkinson which seemed a bit odd.
However, although this did detract and let the book down it was still an incredibly interesting read. The story focuses on ideas which go into the German history. But the twist is intriguing and the story is incredibly well written. I would recommend this book simply for the story. Hopefully the editing issue gets resolved because the book really deserve to be read and the author has done a very good job.

Frank Tietze delivers an in-depth discussion of the impact of empirical results upon transaction cost theory, and in so doing, provides the means for better understanding technology transaction processes in general, and auctions in particular. Substantiating transaction cost theory with empirical auction data, the author goes on to explore how governance structures need to be designed for effective distributed innovation processes. He concludes that the auction mechanism is a viable transaction model, and illustrates that the auction design, as currently operated by market intermediaries, requires thorough adjustments. Various options for possible improvements are subsequently prescribed.

The theoretical facets of this book will strongly appeal to business economists, while its practical implications will provide an illuminating read for both academics and practitioners in the fields of innovation and intellectual property. Revealing empirically substantiated technology prices, this book will also prove to be of great interest to policy makers for further developing the markets for technology.

Inspired by the letters of her grandfather, the architect Ernst Freud, she weaves an elegantly paced, double-stranded narrative set in the English coastal village of Steerborough. In the present, 20-something grad student Lily retreats to Steerborough for the summer with a bundle of letters that architect Klaus Lehman wrote to his wife, Elsa. Her story alternates with that of a group of German-Jewish emigres, including Klaus, Elsa and the deaf painter Max Meyer, who summer in Steerborough in 1953. While Lily pores over Klaus's adoring but paternalistic, bullying letters, she and her workaholic architect boyfriend Nick, living in London, are nearly incommunicado. "The men she knew didn't seem to feel the need to so utterly possess their women," Lily muses, somewhat regretfully. Between infrequent, strained visits from Nick, Lily makes a pretense at work, suns, swims and befriends the little girls next door—and their virile, working-class father. Freud depicts postwar Steerborough from the point of view of Max and his hostess, Gertrude Jilks, an English child psychoanalyst and friend of his recently deceased sister, Kaethe. In Freud's fifth novel, a young woman arrives in a small English seacoast village to research a thesis about a German architect who lived and worked there. While poring over his passionate letters to his wife (letters that raise questions about her own relationship with a man back in London), she becomes involved with the fractious family next door. Interspersed through this narrative is one concerning events decades earlier, when an artist visiting from London starts to make paintings of every house in the village and falls for the architect's wife. A dreamlike atmosphere pervades, rather at the expense of vivid characterization, but Freud's gift for natural description is such that she manages to turn the village's seaside topography into a sentient being, with its own stores of memory and malice.

Freud's fourth novel addresses the power of the artistic muse, but above all it is steeped in the landscape of Steerborough, a tiny British seaside village that is home to two complex casts of characters who live there 50 years apart. Klaus Lehmann, a Jewish architect and German emigre, writes letters to his wife from 1931 until his death in 1953. The letters end up in the hands of a present-day architecture student writing her thesis on Lehmann who rents a cottage in Steerborough to better soak up the creative atmosphere surrounding her famous subject. The time periods are soon revealed to have more than just letters in common, as Freud adroitly ties them together with matching threads of sexual liaisons, children forced to grow up too soon, and natural disaster. Some characters are fleshed out more carefully than others, but no reader will soon forget Freud's rhapsodic descriptions of the village or its inhabitants, who, like the weather, are alternately morose and incandescent. Normal for Suffolk

It may unfair to Esther Freud to begin a review by pointing out that she is the great-granddaughter of you-know-who, but it would be unfair to the reader not to mention it, because one of the themes is the German-Jewish refugee experience in England and one of her characters is a psychoanalyst. The author adds to the relevance of her personal background by providing a list of acknowledgements at the end that almost suggests we have been reading a roman a clef.

There are two main settings, seaside communities on opposite shores of the North Sea. One is a meticulously described East Anglian village, Steerborough, the other a German island (which might actually be in the Baltic).

The two main plots are set 50 years apart in time. One is the story, set in the fifties, of a refugee architect, Klaus, and his wife, Elsa, the other is the story of Lily,a student of architectural history, who is studying the life and work of Klaus and worrying about her relationship with her London architect lover, Nick.

Several other plots are interlinked. Lily gets involved with Grae who is desperately trying to care for two young daughters, Emm and Arry, reminiscent of the wonderful ones in "Hideous Kinky," and who may or may not be the guilty party in his violent relationship with their mother. Elsa has an affair with the deaf artist Max, who is painting a panorama of Steerborough.

It sounds complicated, and there are many subtleties and nuances that will repay a second reading, but the characters are so well demarcated, their dialog is so realistic, and their actions flow so naturally from their personalities, that it is never hard to follow for pure entertainment.

Lovely, romantic, and touching

Though the twin stories took a while to clarify themselves in this reader's mind, once they did, the novel was quietly hypnotic as it wove together themes of loss, love, and historic tragedy. Set in a seaside English town today and in the early 50s, the book is suffused by a sense of isolation and longing, of human insignificance in the face of the limitless waters that can erase whole cities over time. The prose was beautiful and I read many passages over to savor the author's vision.

Slow and Dull

This novel starts out very slow and uninteresting and only barely picks up. It paints vivid pictures of the coastal town and even of the characters in a physical way. But the main part of the story, the relationships, falls flat and remains ambiguous. With the interesting lives led by all the characters, in both timelines, so much more could have been developed. The actions of Lily, Max, and Elsa all seem random and without any motivation. It did offer interesting information about Germany and it's peoples lives before and during WWII.

Dreams DO Come True!

Adorable story. You can say it's a cliche, but that's kind of the whole point, that cliche awesomeness still lives on and is rarer than thought, but as beautiful as ever. Cassie was an annoying but necessary character. Ella...was enigmatic. At times I found myself loving her character, and at times, she felt like a total Mary-Sue. Then you've got Luke Skywalker, who, not only has the coolest name in the universe, but is also the sweetest kid ever, the one we all want. As for background characters, Mark...wow, could you be more of a cardboard cut-out? 'Course, that's what made his character so epic, I always giggled at his obliviousness to how utterly BORING he was. And Robin Hood, how could you not love our mischievous Robin Hood? The idea of a Disney world scavenger hunt was awesome, I just wish I could have been there. I just think that it's a beautiful story of dreams coming true in the perfect location, the place that promotes itself as the place where dreams come true. Filled with a plethora of amusing and amazing Disney world facts, it just adds to the absolute magic of the the epic story of Luke S[kywalker] and [Cinder]Ella.
